Too many theses, dissertations, and independent studies never reach publication—not because the research isn’t useful, but because authors lack mentorship on how to shape their work for publication. The Publication Support Grant is designed to close that gap by pairing one or more selected winners with Plethoryt consultants who treat manuscripts as pieces of scholarship to be mentored into publishable form.

What the grant is about?
The Publication Support Grant is designed to help deserving researcher transform their manuscript into a publishable work with the guidance of expert consultant/s from Plethoryt. This program provides personalized consultancy, strategic journal guidance, and hands-on advisory support to ensure that valuable research doesn’t remain on the shelf, but contributes meaningfully to the academic community.
What the grant offers?
The Grant’s winner(s) receive Plethoryt’s Publication Mentorship Package (valued at ₱50,000), delivered as mentorship and expert collaboration (non-cashable). The package includes:
Online mentorship sessions and onboarding.
Comprehensive manuscript editing and structural refinement.
Tailored journal recommendation strategy (Scopus-indexed, open access, or local journals).
Submission guidance (cover letters, formatting, compliance).
A peer-style (mock) review to anticipate and address reviewer concerns.
Post-acceptance support for revision responses.
Who should apply?
This opportunity is for researchers, graduate students, early-career scholars, and professionals with unpublished, research-based manuscripts—including thesis-derived papers, full research articles, systematic reviews, applied/technical papers, or short communications. Manuscripts must have undergone institutional or scholastic evaluation (e.g., a thesis panel or committee).
Why it matters?
Publishing a paper is one of the biggest milestones in a researcher’s journey. But for many Filipino scholars, especially those writing from theses and dissertations, the road from manuscript to journal is blocked by systemic gaps—not by the lack of good research. Plethoryt’s Publication Support Grant was created to bridge those gaps.
From shelf to journal Every year, thousands of high-quality theses and research papers end up archived in university libraries, with little chance of being read outside their home institution. These works often stop at panel approval and never transition into journal-ready publications. The gap here is translation—helping manuscripts evolve from academic submissions into globally visible, peer-reviewed papers.
Lack of mentorship for publishing While institutions provide guidance for research writing, few offer structured support for the publication process itself. Many scholars are left asking: Which journal is appropriate? How do I write a compelling cover letter? What revisions will peer reviewers expect? Without mentorship, good work remains unpublished. This grant responds by offering consultancy and expert advice, rather than just outsourced editing.
Barrier of journal navigation Indexing, impact factors, open access vs. subscription—these terms confuse even experienced researchers. Students and early-career scholars often submit to journals blindly, resulting in avoidable rejections or publishing in predatory outlets. The grant addresses this by providing journal recommendation strategies and publication ethics guidance.
Financial inequities Publication fees (APCs) and editing services create an uneven playing field, where only scholars with resources can afford to publish. By offering a ₱50,000 mentorship package as a grant, Plethoryt reduces the cost barrier, allowing quality research to progress regardless of financial background.
Underrepresentation of Filipino research Global literature has relatively fewer Filipino-authored papers, not because the research doesn’t exist, but because it isn’t consistently brought to publication. This underrepresentation weakens the country’s visibility in global academic conversations. The grant seeks to increase scholarly participation by empowering researchers to publish smarter.
